Nowadays Grangemouth is a quiet wee place. They have Greggs the bakers, a sports stadium, a big Asda, a Sado-Masochist dungeon and that's about it. But that's only half the story.
Once upon a time, Grangemouth was a major centre of industry and innovation. It was also the birthplace of "CHARLOTTE DUNDAS", the world's first steamship. And in recognition of this, a scale replica was built. All the stranger then that FALKIRK district council should be quite happy for this boat to moulder and slowly disintegrate more than 80 miles away - in MacKay's boatyard, Arbroath. Can anyone HONESTLY see this tub ever becoming the "centrepiece of a refurbished Grangemouth Town Centre".....? Well I for one would love to see the boat returned to its spiritual home......... and I bet MacKay's boatyard would, too..........
What is charlotte dundas? it's chally dee.

You're right, maybe they should dump this heap up Charly D, right outside the buroo, as a tribute to Grangemouth's magnificent industrial heritage
