I'm in Manitou Springs Colorado speaking at the 2007 Authorfest conference. I took :30 minutes to walk about Manitou Springs and capture a little video of the area.
Manitou Springs is an eclectic gathering of people, left/right, up/down, Christian/Wiccan, Hippie/Square...It is an anathem....Thank the "Creator" for diversity!!
I hung out in Manitou back in the 70's. Hippies and Rednecks fighting at the Pioneer Bar every Sat. nite. Wanna be rock stars jamming as you walked up the street. Mineral water gurgling out of the ground. The smell of burning Herb and Patchouli dipped Hippie chicks greeted you as you walked inside to just "cop a squat."Grateful Dead blaring from an upstairs apartment and those unmistakable Acid induced giggles intertwined with 'Truckin,' dancing across the cool mountain air.
I love Manitou. It's where I grew up. I love the friendly, creative people that live here. It's so alive and real. Manitou is so laid back. I love the beauty andI love that the people are down to earth.
This one of the coolest places in the pike peak area the people are so hip>
