i absolutely love this song but i despise Catholicism its very sick and nasty at every level and it has nothing to do with god and the salvation of man .

I only remember this as a child, Very early 60's, But it has always haunted me, I remember the song being sung in church ( i was raised catholic) in Cleveland, Ohio, This Song by Perry Como Brings Back SO many Memerios.

Years ago when Perry Como had his television show he would finish his Christmas
program with this prayer and my mother would expect us all to sit quietley as he sang.
This particular arrangement was played at her funeral.
