If it's a nerve agent that smells of fruit it's probably Tabun (GA).

It was more than likely VG Nerve Agent. It can bond with fat cells and as they lose body fat through the ill-health effects, it continues to affect their nervous system. It's like being exposed again, and again in miniscual amounts. Very tagic.
