I agree with you, the problem is in the way kids are raised and how they learn what is good or not (in terms of food).

Most other countries do have smaller sizes. In Japan, a McDonald's medium is the same as a small in the US. But the point is that people have the freedom to choose. A government shouldn't be allowed to tell you what you can and can't consume. They should only be allowed to educate you on why it's wrong to drink such a high amount of sugar, but not "force you" to not.

in Europe, their McDonalds large sized cup, is our medium sized (Australia) and our large cup is Americas medium...

I guess I'm not enough of a fan of soda, I'd be thinking it gets warm and flat by the point you have it come. I only like soft drinks when I'm at a restaurant in a glass from time to time :) Cheers

I live in the US and I always get the largest because it's usually a better deal, but I always only end up drinking like half of it.

I don't think that they expect people to actually finish that within a short period of time. I think it meant for sharing or like long car rides. Whenever I go the a fast food place here in the US, I only end up drinking like half of it and take the rest home.
