We truly believe that sex crimes can be prevented and that it is important for our society, as a whole, to have a better understanding about what causes a person to commit a sex crime and that many are men (and women) who have taken wrong turns in their lives but can come back to the path of sanity and a healthy sexuality.

@lovemyson85 Molesting or raping a child is not a mistake! those people chose to do it. they know exactly what they are doing. So if a person molests a child you think we should just let them roam the streets without letting him know he is wrong? You are truly sick.

My role as a parent is to teach my child that there are people out there that want to harm him sexually and otherwise. I teach him how to protect himself from child molesters/abductors. Pedophilia is one diagnosis I wish did not exist. At least with murder victims they do not have to relive the abuse and try to find normalcy. Pedophilia is one of the worst diagnosis or disorders ever to exist and it has existed since man first existed. I will continue to learn what I can. Knowledge is power.

@Keither9 Even if the minor entices the adult,the adult will be labeled the predator. But most of the time it boils down to do as i say, not as I do or did, and most parents hold their children to higher standard than they did for themselves, and on the flip side, another side of the spectrum is adults who dont hold their children to any standard, and that allows kids to do what they want, and what end up happening is weak men fall for these minors, then end up on a registry!

Clearly these blanket laws are not working. Garrido was listed on a public registry and that did nothing to prevent the crime! The truth is the registry is overloaded with many non-violent offenders, so police are overburdened watching all of them. The registry needs reform so that we only focus on actual predators, this will make law enforcement more effective and will save taxpayers money.
