I can understand Germans speaking English, but why has he got a English accent aswell?

The Russians were Allies too. They won the war. Winners don't end up executed by International Courts even if they're quite guilty themselves. And it was not the russians that broke the pact anyway, Germany attacked first.

There is a great deal of info about Ribbentrop on Wikipedia, I haven't read it all, but apparently he was a complex and well traveled man. "Fluent in both French and English, young Ribbentrop lived at various times in Grenoble, France, and London, before travelling to Canada in 1910.[" He also worked in the US and was apparently key in Hitler becoming Chancellor, involved in a number of meetings at his house between his WW I war buddy Von Papen and Hitler and other cronies.
