By learning to speak ones ansestral tongue, the children get connected to their roots and gain later the pride of being able to better understand who they are, and thus helping them become better people. Keep doing the good work Mary. What you do is very important and your students will always be gratefull for it.

I may have an imminent job for some native Iñupiaq translators and voice talents. Feel free to respond here (ASAP). It would be great to get Mary involved!

Will you explain the punishments? Thisvis important for history as well.

quyaana for this video. that was super informative, and makes me want to learn more about the way I and people around me grew up talking. I always wondered why more people didn't speak eskimo, and you brought up some really good points.

Mary, keep the good work on, so interesting, I'm studying our language in Nuuk (Kalaallit-Nunaat).

Is she related to Sidney Huntington? Or Jimmy?
Mary. Keep up the good work. Your correct when you say the elders didn't want to teach Inupiaq to the younger generation because of the punishment they went through.
