An interview with David Arnold

Tijdens het 35ste Filmfestival Gent kregen we de kans met David Arnold, componist van de Bondfilms sinds Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) en Godzilla, een aangenaam gesprek te voeren. Onze interesse ging vooral uit naar de score van de nieuwste Bondfilm, Quantum Of Solace.

During the 35th Filmfestival Ghent we got the chance to talk to David Arnold, composer of the more recent James Bondfilms, and decided to ask him some interesting questions about the newest Bondfilm 'Quantum Of Solace'.

I prefer "Independence Day" myself.

His score for "Stargate" is still his best work. "Tomorrow Never Dies" has some shining moments, but his other Bond outings are pretty mediocre. John Barry is unlikely to ever return to Bond, but I wish a new composer would be brought in.

Talented chap but not happy The James Bond theme does not appear properly in the soundtrack album of Quantum of solace.

Nice nice gasten! Ik ben niet naar het filmfestival van Gent kunnen gaan, maar in Cinema Novo (filmfestival van Brugge, wereldcinema) zit ik in de jury, dan heb ik toch eens een filmfestival mee kunnen maken...
