In this video I will show you how to make a Frank Kern style video using your iPhone.

With a new app called tilt shift video, you can now achieve depth of field effects with your videos using only your iPhone.

Using this type of effect would give your video and more professional feel and set you apart from your competitors.

In the past the only way to achieve this type of effect would be with very expensive camera equipment.

Jon Bennett:  Jon Bennett here and in this video I'm going to show you how you can use your iPhone 4, or even your iPhone 3GS, I believe, as long as it shoots video, to create a... I'm going to call it a Frank Kern‑style video. And the reason I'm calling it that is if you look at some of his videos, you'll notice that you see how he's in focus here, and the background is all blurred out, you've got to have a pretty decent video camera to get this effect.

The cheapest way to do that is to buy a camera, like a Nikon D90, there's also a Canon equivalent, but I know the D90 does, shoots HD video, it's normally a DSLR camera, but it does shoot HD video and give you what this is called depth of field and it basically puts certain things in focus and the background out of focus. You can achieve that effect, of course that camera costs, I don't know, I think it's like $1,200 right now. That's about as cheap as you're going to get.

However, I have just found a new program on my iPhone four that's called Tilt Shift video generator.

And I'm going to show you exactly how I used to have to create a short video clip that achieves this effect and gives your videos a little more pop. I think it's pretty cool, I think you'll enjoy it, so let me show you that real quick.

How it turned out, this is the effect it gave me and you can see the blurred outside edges, it increased the saturation, and give me a little bit of a vignette effect. It just kind of makes for a little bit nicer presentation and it's kind of fun to do. The app that I'm using is this one the Tilt Shift video app. I just actually found another one but I haven't tried that one out yet. I'll report back to you and let you know how that goes. But in this video I'm going to show you my process of how I actually shot the video and used this app to create what I think is pretty killer video for the website. Anyway, leave a comment below, I'll see you on the next page and we'll get into it.
