Ponden Reservoir at Ponden Lane
Ponden Reservoir was built in the early 1870's as a compensation reservoir for the former Keighley corporation waterworks, to supply water to the mills in the Worth Valley. The reservoir now owned by Yorkshire Water supplies drinking water for the high level areas of Keighley, parts of Oxenhope and Crosshills.

Watersports are available at Ponden Reservoir but for members only. Ponden Watersports is an organisation for sailing & water craft enthusiasts based at Ponden Reservoir, Stanbury, near Haworth.

Membership is provided for users of canoes, dinghies and sailboards. Membership gives unlimited use of the water and facilities.

Members can sail, or use other approved craft, on this beautiful reservoir set high in the Yorkshire Pennines. There is usually a good wind with challenging changes of speed and direction in various areas of the water!
