The Quran mentions that Adam, Noah, the Patriarchs, the twelve tribes of Israel, Moses, Jesus etc., were all believers and many of them even messengers who lived a long time before Muhammad or Abu Bakr.

Nadia, Abu Bakir allay alslam was the only sahabee that never was a kafir or mishrik and he believed in Allah since childhood before Islam showed up.

@nadialejandra Good point. Khadija (r.a.) I believe was the first person to embrace the Prophet's message. Abu Bakr (r.a.) the first one outside the Prophet's (saw) family maybe.

@nadialejandra he was informed of the prophecy of Muhammed before Muhammed was even a prophet by a man who recognized him to be the closest companion to the last prophet, this man knew this from scriptures. so abu bakr already had an idea of it. hope this helps
