@Spectere I went from a 286 with EGA to this machine in 1993. Talk about a world of difference. I think I sat and listened to the startup music over and over for an hour before I really got into the heart of the machine. It died in 1999 after the hard drive kicked over and the BSOD appeared while it was recording a phone message.
Hah, my first 486! It was awesome going from an 8088 to that thing.
It kind of sucked how the integrated sound chip wasn't SoundBlaster compatible, though (it had a Windows driver, but good luck running most DOS games in Windows 3.1). We wound up having to get an SB Pro to truly make Doom come alive. It's a shame, because I seem to remember the onboard sound far surpassing the sound "quality" of the SB Pro.
@detmikeq Isn't that always the way, especially back then. Now adays their really isn't a make or break difference between an intel Core i5 and a Core 2 or a Core, or a Pentium 4. The can all run the same software. The performance differences being trivial compared to the difference between say a 286 and a 486

This was my first PC. Oh, how I loved that thing.
Too bad the floppy drive caught on fire.

This computer was a poor excuse for one...Okay so it could be used as an answering machine, big deal. Get a regular answering machine.
