A lion at a recent zoo trip decided that he wanted to make his mark on me, my family, my clothes, and my drink. Lesson learned, don't get too close to a lion.
Of all of my over 200 videos this one is my favorite. Everytime I visit the zoo I call to this same lion. Each time he roars at me and comes over to look me in the eye. Last time he sprayed the tree near where I stood. Check out my videos at fanofaestallings on Youtube.

  • rofl! He just likes you, and is marking you as his. :) At the zoo I work at, the viewing area for our lions is a glass partion. Unfortunately, the sound from the animals is blocked pretty much unless they roar (which could be heard over the entire park), and the lions tend not to come towards the glass. There is something about the chain-link fences that brings the animals closer. Unfortunately in your case, a little too close. lol

  • Funny you should say that about marking. I was talking to him just before the video was on. He was on a rock and I kept telling him he had nice hair. Then he got down and I turned on the record.

The zoo gave me a new drink... but did nothing about our clothes. I could have put my hand through fence. The only thing between me and the fence was a row of plants.

When I was a child a zoo manager let me hold a baby cheetah.

  • The smell? Odd but not strong. It did get in our drinks, on all of our clothes. The manager of the zoo got me a new drink. However, they told us this happens alot and we should not have been standing so close to the cage. I think they need a mote around that cage. Or a less friendly lion.
