Check wikipedia for "Far Above Cayuga's Waters" and you will be disappointed to find the answer. :-/

  • Far above Cayuga's waters,

    There's an awful smell,

    Some say it's Cayuga's waters,

    Others say Cornell!

  • In the heart of dear old Emory,

    Where the sun doth shine,

That is where our hearts are turning,

    Round old Emory's shrine.

  • @saxaphonman

im a boy scout and i go to emerald bay catalina every summer and this is there anthem

  • This song make me feel nostalgic.

And I didn't even go to Cornell.

  • The original song is actually "Annie Lisle" which I believe was a popular ballad in the 1860's. Cornell then changed the lyrics and used it as their alma mater, then many other universities followed suit including my school, Indiana State. :) It's just a beautiful, and popular piece of music that will never go away or die nor should it.

  • the song is also the same with our school hymn..

  • @mabeltan1992 at least 40 different universities, most notebly, UNC's, "Hark the Sound"
