  • lesson i only had to learn once: only apply my whipped shea butter blend once a week on wash day. i can not use it everyday unless i want massive build up & to wash my hair w/ a clarifying shampoo/baking soda mix. i had to wash my hair several times, use vinegar rinses diluted & pure until i googled & found out about mixing baking soda & clarifying shampoo. i had to carefully detangle my hair all weekend & avoid scissors so i didn't cut out the clusterf*ck knots or cut myself bald. never again!

  • @fanatic709 i remember when I didn't know what clarifying was, I didn't wash my hair that often when I was natural and I was applying the shea mixture almost everyday and washing with a black soap and shea butter shampoo, now my scalp has a build up problem from the lack of proper clarifying, I'm working on that.

  • Your hair looks lovely! Do you have any hair goals? Were you able to meet any of your goals with your stretch?

  • @MsVincygirl my goals for now are 1) try different techniques & products to eliminate split ends, 2) reach a length just below my breast or waist length. 3) eliminate as much lost of hair during wash day 4) still researching for that magic product to control my natural texture, my relax ends are much easier to manage. The goals I achieved during the stretch was waiting 4 months before a touch up, my hair grew which is always a plus, I found ways to use less heat.

  • @innerbeauty24 goodluck. look into exfoliating your scalp or try the clarifying/ baking soda mix. i just wanted to use clarifying shampoo, i think u can use your fav shampoo w/ like a tbsp of baking soda but i'm not sure so google. i haven't exfoliated my scalp but i've heard about it. be prepared to deep condition if u use the baking soda mix & be careful of tangles. build up is b*tch! i know this was abt the phyto (too rich 4 my blood) but u said shea butter & i had a flashback!

  • @innerbeauty24 Those are good goals. I've been texlaxing for about a year and a half now. On my stretches, I deal with 3 different textures; bone-straight relaxed hair, texlaxed hair and new growth hair. I haven't found any magic product for the new growth but what I do is try to keep it very moisturized by spraying it with aloe vera juice and also putting my moisturizing lotion on it. This keeps my new growth soft and less prone for breakage at the demarkation point. All the best!!

  • @naturallytrini11 sorry didn't mention in the vid the relaxer I used is Phytospecific relaxer index II.

  • your hair looks good
