Match Under A Glass In A Microwave Creates Plasma

This is what happens when you light a match, place a glass cup over it, and then microwave it.

I've heard lots of different possibilities as to what is actually going on so I'll just list them here: nuclear fission // super heated air // plasma gas... i actually have no idea what it is, enjoy.

P.S. This is a microwave we found next to a dumpster so it doesn't matter that we ruined it, in fact it's what we were trying to do. This was also done outdoors with the help of an extension cord, so no worries.

@Danni4815162342 I'm afraid plasma isn't a gas - it's effectively the state of matter above gas. It's what happens when the atoms themselves start to break apart (I think), so it isn't radioactive or toxic. Having said that, it's still bloody dangerous stuff since it's so hot and it gives off vast amounts of UV light, which can cause skin cancer with excessive/prolonged exposure. It's the same reason welders wear masks - you'd be surprised how much UV a welding arc gives off.

If they used a small tea light candle under the glass it was the metal around the wax of the candle that did that.
