From the 1972 Album "Eagles"

Most of us are sad
No one lets it show
I've been shadows of myself
How was I to know?
Tell me scarlet sun
what will time allow?
We have brought our children
here Who can save them now?
Oh, Weeping woman try to smile
Like the coming dawn
Most of us are sad it's true
Still we must go on
Love was here today
Oh the sun was bright
I will sing you faraway
Love is here tonight
Most of us are sad
No one lets it show
I've been shadows of myself
How was I to know?

  • @Medusarants Don Henley makes really powerful messages in his songs that are just magnificent.

  • The debut album had 3 hit songs, this was the best song on the album i always felt

  • @JohnPrince80 Check out Randy's duet with Juice Newton on their cover of Neil Young's Heart of Gold. It is great!

  • @TheMidniteFlyer He was always my favorite too.

  • The Eagles are my favourite band, so I know almost every song of theirs. But I think this is their saddest song. And that's why it's my favourite.

  • @svensverigeqx No dude. Those songs are predictable. Meisner songs are by far the best to listen to.

  • @TheMidniteFlyer Agreed...I always liked the songs that Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon and Timothy B Schmidt sang the best...

  • @svensverigeqx I wasn't just comparing this one song, I said Mesiner's voice is better than any of the other Eagles. His "Take It To The Limit" blows away anything that Henley or Frey has done as an Eagle.

  • @TheMidniteFlyer HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA U GOTTA BE FREAKING KIDDING ME u compare this song to take it easy or hotel california its good but not that good

  • In my opinion Meisner had the best voice but was overshadowed by the jerks (Henley and Frey). Try and Love Again was the best song on the Hotel California LP. After he left, The Eagles should have changed their name to The Egos. Basically that is what Henley and Frey are, two big egos.
