  • Thanks helped a lot haha. I didn't wanna buy the stuff seems kinda worthless when you have to buy it but like this I made it myself.

  • Glad you found it useful

  • wonder if you could use cotton from the cotton fields after harvest? you know all the left over stuff flying all over the roads in and aroound the fields ...

  • Cotton balls work but denser material works better - thus the cordage. You could spin cotton into thread and then into rope... then make char rope with it :-) Lots of work, though.

  • Great video and a science lesson as well.

  • Well done Mr X. I like the cord better, find it to not fall apart as easy as CharCloth. Works great in a FirePiston too. Thanks for the post. Will sub, and share with Youtubers. Cheers

  • Brilliant!!!!

    Thanks.

  • The core of the cord makes good wings for fishing flies

  • Burn the paint off the can... sorry... typo

  • If you use a "Kiwi" shoe polish can, it won't pop open. Bur the paint off the can, before you char.

  • The cheapest and most abundant source of 100% cotton "strings" which I have found was Dollar Tree. I got a mop with 100% cotton fat strings about 2 foot long lengths if you dissassemble the plastic mophead string holder or simply pull a few strings through one end and eventually pull out all the strings and for an "Altoids" type tin box I got a little tin box at Dollar Tree as well, it was actually rectangular and was made to hold a gift card (was in the gift wrap & card section) $2=LOTS of it!

  • @COURTCHLOE I didn't say I'm negative about it, I just shared my taughts

  • @garlikas so why did you wach this and then be negativ about it, knowlege is power,

  • @garlikas If you've ever tried to light a camp fire in the wind after a winter snow or rainstorm, you'll know why something like this is invaluable. Fatwood, jute fibers, magnesium and char cloth/cord make starting a fire in these situations much more time and calorie effective. These things could literally save your life.
