http://drivencarreviews.com/ Americans have never embraced small cars. That's beginning to change as fuel prices raise, the economy tanks and the vehicles get more comfortable. Will the 2012 Kia Rio be able to snag buyers away from Fiesta, Yaris, Fit, Accent and Sonic? Tom Voelk attends the Texas press launch to find out.

  • Typo at 5:13 - otherwise thanks for the review.

  • @newfanglejr Curious as to what that typo might be...

  • @DrivenCarReviews, typo = Product "Planing" vs. Planning. Unless there was woodworking involved somewhere.

  • @NoEcologyNoEconomy I could make some crack about it being the Korean spelling but that would be what everyone would expect. I'll do better next time.

  • Appreciate the professional review. Not many on this car. Great Job.

  • QUESTION: So when the car is at a full stop and the engine turns off, the Kia representative mentioned that "bluetooth, rear view camera" work in electric-mode but does AC still work? I know some cars have the AC shut off when it goes in such modes, and that wouldn't work in Austin, much less Houston or other high humidity/hot climates. Great review :-) Did you get a chance to ride Lime Creek Rd?

  • Just purchased one today. Very good vehicle. Decent power, amazing fuel economy (even better when you're not a person who drives with a lead foot), feels like a larger car while driving, but is very small and easy to maneuver in tight spaces. Great review. Great car.

  • @hikari94122 I checked out your review and now I like it even more! Thanks for posting!

  • @evoxpisces I have the SX with premium package. I am a big guy ( 6'4" 220 ) and more than enough leg and hip/shoulder room. Actually more leg room than any car in its class. That's my biggest issue with a car. With all the features like push button start, keyless entry, nav, heated seats, back-up camera, moon roof, LED accent lights and so on, no other car for this price can come close. $24'500 with extended warranty 100g's 10 years bumper to bumper. Check out my review on it.

  • I'm in the market for a new car, and I took a look at this car the other day and was definitely impressed! Way bigger on the inside than it looks! Also drives smooth and the price is low! So this is definitely in my top 3 at the moment...

  • I'll Take It As An EX! :D lol

  • I Like It & I Wanna Get That As An EX! :D

  • I want this for my first Carr.!

  • @DrivenCarReviews Great review!

  • That's great, but how does it stack up against a Ferarri Italia?
