Saul Williams as Niggy Tardust
Lollapalooza 2008

Song: "Black Stacy"

This was the absolute best set of Lollapalooza 2008. Saul commanded the crowd like no one else we saw this weekend. Fantastic show by a fantastic showman.

  • This set was amazing! Got so hot and sweaty dancing up front. Walking out everyone was looking at me like i was crazy. I warned them about the dance epidemic that was upon them as all of my sweat dried off on their dry clothes...

  • Oh I know. I was trying to keep my composure in front of all the damned hipster kids but I totally lose my shit every time I hear "List of Demands". I swear I'm like a woman who's found Jesus at a backwater revival during that song. Got my "PRAISE JESUS!" hands going in the air the whole time. lol. Such fantastic energy in that song.

  • Awkward moment when your guitar strap breaks.

  • I saw Saul open for NIN in Las Vegas. One of the best opening acts I've ever seen. He walked into a hostel ass room and left with us eating out the palm of his hand.

  • haha the guitarist at 0:48 was like: what the fuck.

  • man i remember this concert, lollapalooza was so dope that year saul, lupe, rage against the machine, black keys, radiohead, mgmt good times..

  • i hear this song in my ELA class

  • NO NO NO NO NO NO. DO NOT DO THAT. PERIOD. Speaking as a pro soundman, this is the worst possible thing you can do. Without going into too much detail, this changes the frequency response of the mic completely, makes it more succeptable to feedback, and makes it far less intelligible. I always have an easier time mixing rock shows because most of the singers know better than to do that.

  • this depends on how good the 'soundman' is. a lot of the time you have to cup the mic to make it sound decent. not every performance has a grammy awards caliber soundman running things. dig.

  • That shit was hilarious

  • great performance!
