  • I respectfully disagree with Mr. Greenwald to the extent he is claiming the war on terror has inaugurated an 'unprecedented' decline in civil liberties. Consider the Alien & Sedition Act.

    We had this problem in Vancouver in the lead up to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The City enacted an omnibus Olympic By-law which local activists actually had to sue the City over to have sections offensive to the Fundamental Freedoms guaranteed in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The IOC, which pays no taxes on its corporate sponsorship profits, desires tyrannical control over their dystopia.
