What's up with the 1-2 shift bough? 2-3 sounded fine, but 1-2 was a bit odd when you let the clutch out.
Also - flat-shifting isn't illegal at all. MS is only illegal if you must comply with emissions. If you want to flat-shift and still be legal, get a WOT box. Same effect, but it doesn't do anything outside of monitor RPM and switch input. If the switch is tripped, it just scrambles the ignition coil signal which causes random misfires.
I'd take my MS3 any day though.

lol, I've had both those problems on my MS at one point...
But still MegaSquirt FTMFW
-
it retards the timing so much that it can't rev up usually

I know you havent heard of it, but the engine is being held at a given RPM using spark cut. It is used in turbo cars to build boost, that can be used off the line.

megapooop
what's the sound is it the ecu resetting or is it the software based trigger making the engine miss? :o
-
anything below is the launch control

Flat shifting is when you keep your foot planted to the floor on the throttle. As you press the clutch the ECU automatically engages a rev limiter. That's the pop-pop-pop on gear changes. I need to get a night time video of my car flat shifting as apparently there are nice exhaust flames.

Can someone please tell me what flat-shifting is?

That's awesome, too bad they're illegal here. :( I'm sure they're illegal where you are too. :p But still, mad cool.

Very cool, so the car can be driven normally say below 6500 rpm, and anything above that the megasquirt will assume you're going for it... and use the flatshift option! Me likey more and more! I've got a supercharged 1.6 miata and want to loose the AFM and go standalone... my plans are gaining steam! Very cool stuff and thanks for the response!
Very cool! I take it the flatshift works at whatever RPM you shift at?

no, with megasquirt, i set the rpm that i want the flatshift to be armed at and anything at or above that it's ready to go.
