Separate Ways: Someone Save Me: Chapter 27 Part 2

Riley's POV

Nick entered my room and my heart skipped a beat. I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with this.

"Riley." he breathed, staring at the large purple bruise which covered the right side of my face.
"Nick."
"He did this, right?" he asked, sternly.
"No." I stated. "It was me."
"What?"
"You should have listened to Joe. Your so naive, you believe everything I say." I smiled.
"What are you talking about?" he asked.
"I did this myself. I suppose I was desperate and wanted you back, but now I realise Carl is way better." I lied.
"Your lying!" he yelled. "Tell me what's happening." Nick pleaded.
"Grow up Nick!" I shouted. "Move on. I have."
"Why are you doing this?" he asked me, tears streaming from his eyes.
"To protect you." I breathed, before turning away.

He watched me for what seemed like hours, analysing my reaction, but I kept a stale face. I needed to keep him safe, even if it meant being dangered myself.

"Goodbye Riley." he finally said, standing to leave the room.
"Bye Nick."

He walked from the room and gripped onto Kevin, hugging him close. I couldn't believe I hurt him that much.

"Riley?" Joe said, appearing at the doorway.
"Yeah."
"I know what your doing. I don't know why, but I know you love Nick."
"Joe, I don't..." I started.
"I'll be watching you." he smiled. "I'm really sorry by the way."
"It's okay Joe. We all make mistakes." I sighed.

He nodded in my direction before leaving the room. Would my life ever be normal!

Carson's POV

What happened last night? I had a splitting headache and my throat was terribley dry. I scrambled downstairs and gathered some bottled water and pills for my throbbing head. I skipped breakfast, not wanting to risk throwing up, and strolled into the lounge. I hadn't watched tv in a while, wonder whats on?

Another episode of Hannah Montana, which I'm embarrassed to say I've seen more than 5 times. A documentary on blow fish, snooze. E! News. Who can resist celebrity gossip.

"Moving onto tweener news it appears that Jarson and Coe are over." Ryan reported.
"A direct quote from Joe Jonas states that he split from 2 month girlfriend Carson Davis, stating that she was a screw up and he didn't see a future with her." Juiliana continued.
"This recent picture taken late last night shows Carson reacting against the break-up."
"So much for happily ever after." Ryan laughed.

A picture of me falling out of a cab and hurling into Hayley's garden was flashed on screen. How could Joe dump me over tv. He hadn't even had the decency to call! I thought we were in love, now he's left me. Just like everybody else.

I ran to my room and quickly searched my bathroom cupboard. It was still here. I took out a fresh needle and loaded it with the drugs. This way was always the quickest. I pierced the skin on my wrist and quickly inserted the drugs into my blood stream. Guess nobody would miss me!

"Carson!"

I dropped the needle and my brain began to panic. That voice sounded familiar.

"Carson! Open this door now!"

Shit! It was Hayley, and she sounded pissed! Well, I was pissed too!

"Go away Hayley!" I shouted back, storming down the stairs.
"Open the door, we need to talk!"
"I don't want to talk." I stated.
"Fine. Then listen!" she said, banging against the glass.
"Hayley, leave me alone! I'm not in the mood."
"What's wrong Carson, you've changed!"
"I've changed!" I yelled. "Everybody's changed! I'm the only real one left." I wailed.
"What?"

I opened the door so she could see the sight of my crumpled dress, from the night before, my running mascara, and a needle mark in my elbow.

"Carson. What's wrong?" she asked, sympathetically.
"It's over!" I sobbed. "Joe broke up with me!"
"When?" she asked.
"It's all over the news! He promised me forever Hayley! He lied!" I screamed, before slamming the door to wallow in my self-pity.

I'm learning this song for my hot science teacher lol
I hope everybody had a great new year! Mine rocked!
I had some sleeping to do once I had slept at my friends though.
We didn't go to bed until 6am and woke up at 2pm.
We played singstar with her crazy neighbours until 5 in the morning :D
Good times!
