Nils Landgren is perhaps Sweden's most multi-faceted musician. His style can be as intimate as Chet Baker's, and he's equally at home with jazzy Christmas carols and covers of ABBA hits. But it's the trombone player's performances with his Funk Unit that are making the most waves, with some critics calling the Funk Unit one of jazz's best live acts.
Sweden.se listened to the 'man with the red horn' and the Funk Unit at the Hamburg Elbjazz festival, and interviewed Nils and his saxophone-playing sidekick, Magnus Lindgren about what's special about their style, about Swedish jazz in general and the Funk Unit's next album.
@JUSTKIRALINA - glad to hear that! We think he's great too!
