Walk for a cure- In memory of Audrey Strumeier

Last year the turn out exceeded expectations. Hard work, effort, and dedication on the part of the Colts Neck Cougars for Cancer Awareness Club led to a walk with hundreds of participants and $22,000 later a proud association with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dani and Shana Strumeier, co-founders of the club, as well as niece and daughter of Audrey Strumeier, were honored by the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as representatives for the club for their outstanding efforts.

After a successful inaugural year, the Colts Neck Cougars for Cancer Awareness Club have high hopes of making this year's walk just as much of a success, if not more.

As many of you know this walk is dedicated to the memory of Audrey Strumeier. In March 2009, Audrey lost her four year battle to Melanoma Cancer. She left behind two daughters, a husband, family and many friends.

Most of us have loved ones who have lost their lives or are currently struggling with their efforts to fight cancer. It is our responsibility to show those who have been there for us that we are there to support them. And to show those who have lost their lives to cancer that we have not lost them in vain.

It is with great honor, memory, and dedication to those with cancer that the Colts Neck Cougars for Cancer Awareness Club asks that you attend its second annual Walk for a Cure in Memory of Audrey Strumeier. All proceeds will again be donated to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Remember all of your efforts lead us one step closer to finding a cure.
