  • That little square chamber that connects the pump to the thermostat is the thermostat housing. You are correct in your assessment that unbolting the pump from that housing is much easier. I've done this on a 1993 Sentra E without power steering, and am currently doing it on a 1993 Sentra XE with power steering. One question: do you have info on the bolt placement?

  • @Noshkanok I don't, however if you test fit it with the bolts placed such that the threads touch and leave the bolts sticking out- you can determine which ones go where and swap them holes as needed. They should all have about the same gap between the bolt head and twist kiss surface they snug in to.

  • Thanks for uploading this. I have a 2005 Nissan Sentra and it is experiencing some overheating problem. Suspected that it is the water pump (the two fans working, coolant in good level - we opened the cap and water steam came out smoking hot, shoot out about a meter high). My question is, if indeed it is the water pump problem, is the replacement the same as the older model shown here? The pump and its location look the same as the one you've shown. How much would a mechanic charge for this?

  • @kisssmallbee You're welcome. Yes they're similar. You'd have to ask as it varies by location etc.

  • Thanks

  • @bassmanb3 You're welcome. Thanks for stopping by and liking the video.

  • Thanks! Saved Me a lot of frustration.

  • @aamir0744 You bet my friend.

  • @Matlike1 Usually leaks like that are from rubber that has to get hot and flexible AND be under pressure to leak a little pin hole etc. Could be a by-pass hose or heater hose. Or a water pump seal.
