Skeith the 3rd versus Cubia

One of two throwaway vids I'm about to delete off my hard drive.

The reason I haven't uploaded anything on Cubia is because despite the power of Skeith's ultimate form, there seem to be no shortcuts of any kind you can take in these fights. The only one I found is that a lucky slash at the right moment can break the Gomora chains in the latter Alpha battles before they ever think of charging you, but I only pull that off once in the video. The front Gomora (where the shield/shot magnet is) has to cross Skeith's scythe's line of fire, which isn't very often before the chain attacks.

The only thing that might seperate this video from the others you may have seen is that I fully stop Chaos Gehenna twice. The way in which I pull it off though is dangerous; you have to rapidly dash backwards six times as fast as possible, then into the sixth dash, start up the scythe combo and take out as many as possible. Done correctly (and with a little luck), the last of the Gomoras will be lagging behind long enough to be wiped out. If you mess up though, you're gonna take almost all of the attack. It's easy to mess up too because you're waiting for the last possible second to begin the assault. The dashing backwards is to buy time, waiting for as many Gomoras as possible to come out and get caught in the scythe's waves along with putting the necessary distance between you and the tail end of the stampede.

There also seems to be a bug in which sometimes Skeith uses a normal shot at the beginning of the Gehenna even though you never hit square, and you see it in the video. Dunno what causes it, but it just makes Chaos Gehenna that much worse when it occurs. The attack doesn't become impossible to dodge of course since I did just that, but it is very scary to see when your strategy doesn't involve normal shots.

EDIT: I know what this bug is now. The game remembers the last button(s) pressed as the Chaos Gehenna cutscene starts and completes the action afterward. Considering the difficulty in avoid this attack in the first place, that's a bad problem. All I can say is if you can, watch what you push when this attack is coming. Foresight is your only means of avoiding this bug.

I figure the seven represent the other Phases, and when he goes to attack, he adds his own. I don't think there's an official explanation behind why an eighth sword is created from the charging up process, but that may be something to ask the people behind the .hack//Wiki about. :\

WAHHH! I want to use Skeith the 3rd for a bunch of battles! (Is it just me or is his machine gun shots kinda useless? I mean you fight one battle with him and it says you can't use them.

Well, technically you can, but you are correct nonetheless. You can use them against Cubia Beta, either when it's stunned for more damage or against Chaos Gehenna, but the former case is better off with either homing shots or even nothing, and I demonstrated another way to handle Gehenna in the video.

However, the machine gun shots do explain why Haseo developed the dual gunner class since he uses both hands for them.

@PowerFl00d Has someone officially said this is the only fight you get to use skiethv3 because if I'm not wrong you keep the Xth form and Skiethv3 after you beat the game. to use this version of skieth simply beat the game and load a cleared game file now enter raven's @home and go to the serpent of lore assuming you can still select avatar battles from its menu you should be able to use skiethv3 in any fight you want.if I'm corect in thins you should have access to him when you get Xth form

The longer you hold down Square, the more powerful the shots become, and subsequently the more Gomora you can destroy at once. It was the only way I could save my hind in the Beta fight this playthrough. XD

As for Chaos Gehenna, you can (mostly) stop the attack with less risk if you follow the tactic hinted at (using normal shots to destroy the first few rounds, then slashing your way through the rest). It's not as effective as a total dodge, but it works. XD
