Maple Leafs exploded in this one owning the Sens 5-0. Tucker scored twice and Mats Sundin scored the first goal. Vesa Toskala Earned his 3rd Shutout of the season. Next game for the Leafs, In Florida to face the Panthers.

GAME-RECAP(NHL.COM):

Toronto (AP) -- The Ottawa Senators hardly left a good impression on GM Bryan Murray going into Tuesday's NHL trade deadline.

Darcy Tucker had two goals and an assist to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 5-0 win over the Sens at Scotiabank Place on Monday.

Senators coach John Paddock called the loss "a total embarrassment."

"The whole scenario didn't make any sense," he added.

Defenceman Bryan McCabe said the win was not just big, but well-deserved for his Leafs.

"I don't care how they played," McCabe said. "We've got a little something going here and it's nice to see. How about a little credit for the way we played?"

"We seem to always be top-five in man games lost so that doesn't help us at all. It's nice to have a healthy team now going forward and this is the real Maple Leafs team."

Tucker agreed.

"We've got a fuller, healthier lineup, Vesa has played great for us in net and our defence has played well and given us an opportunity to win every night," Tucker said. "That's obviously the team everyone expects us to be."

The Leafs scored four times in the second period, including two on the power play, to build a 5-0 lead heading into the final frame.

Mats Sundin, Pavel Kubina and Dominic Moore also scored for the Leafs (27-28-9) while Matt Stajan chipped in with three assists and Tomas Kaberle had two.

Vesa Toskala made 31 saves and collected his third shutout of the season and the 11th of his career. The win was the fourth in the past five games for the Leafs.

Ray Emery made his fifth straight start for the Senators (36-31-6) and allowed five goals on 21 shots through two periods before giving way to Martin Gerber to start the third.

Gerber had just slightly more action in the third than he did sitting on the bench as the Leafs had just six shots in the final period, but by that point all the damage had been done.

The Senators had 14 shots in the final period as they tried to break Toskala's shutout bid, but with no luck.

Kaberle even made a point-blank save off Mike Fisher in the dying minutes as Toskala found himself on the ground and out of position.

"(The puck) was just sitting there so you have to go on your knees to try to block it," Kaberle said.

Sundin scored the only goal of the first period when he was left all alone at the side of the Senators net during a power play. Sundin tipped a point shot from Kaberle off Emery and in.

Tucker scored twice more with the man advantage in the second period, as the Leafs blew the game open and outshot the Senators 13-6 in the period.

Tucker scored the first of his two goals at 6:28 and Kubina made it 3-0 a little more than two minutes later. After Tucker made it 4-0, Moore made a nifty little move around the Senators defence and tucked a backhand through Emery's legs for a 5-0 lead.

"I don't even know where to start," said Senators defenceman Mike Commodore when asked about the team's performance.

"The good thing is we play again tomorrow. We just got spanked but you can't sit here and dwell on it."

Notes: The Senators lead the all-time series with the Maple Leafs 37-20-3-4...Senators defenceman Luke Richardson played in his 1,400th NHL game last night...The Senators have gone seven games (2-3-2) since their last regulation win.
