How thrilling to re-live at least two moments from this Bert Kaempfert Tribute. An avid Kaempfert fan, I planned a trip to Germany immediately on learning of the concerts last year...and the chance to actually see such core players as Ladi Geisler and Ack van Rooyen, as well as Ms. Vrethammar live.
What a memorable evening at the Alte Oper. And thank you Mark - and Jiggs - for carrying the Kaempfert torch and for introducing his timeless music to new audiences!

Brilliant sound from this group led by Jiggs Whigham. He's performed with the masters of this style and is now the master himself. I'm thinking of Ray Conniff - how is it the trombonists keep winding up in charge of the orchestras ?!!!!!
