Phil takes us to a spot where he had a lucky strike the week before. He dug up over 3oz of gold nuggets along a 10 meter line running north south, which began at the foot of a small casuarina tree. Phil explains that this non-descript little tree is known to prospectors as a gold indicator tree. It seems to particularly like growing in the soil where gold likes to hide. So it pays to keep an eye open for it, as it is often hard to see.
Great to see Phil "on the gold". Very informative video! Is this tree also known as the "she-oak"? In what other areas of Australia is it found by the way? Keep up the great work fellas! Cheers
