@MBTA000 I wonder why train horns on CSX freight trains are louder than those on the commuter rail?

So a commuter train sounding the horn from 300-400ft away doesn't hurt peoples ears, but a CSX freight train does? They are the same kind of horn. How do you make a horn louder or quieter? I guess if your filming a CSX train at a railroad crossing, conventional foam earpugs aren't gonna do you any good.

This freight train operates Sunday through Thursday. It used to operate at night, but for some reason, it now operates during the day. It originates in Walpole and runs to Milford, where it delivers products to a glass facility. Then it goes back to Walpole.

LUCKY! I've seen that pass through Norfolk once, but didn't have my Camera, I do have one of the local headed south at Norfolk at night.

Coming home from school last night (Mon 07/28), I came around the corner to turn onto my street and there was a frieght train going through the North Billerica Station. I didn't have me camera, GOSH DARN IT ALL! You're lucky!
