You propped up a government in iraq that would be naturally baised to suddam, bassed on the mathematical proportions of Shiite versus sunni. This innevediable outcome is directly resulting from the method of governance you a foriegn military established. Suddam's outcome could be predetermined prior to invasion.

When America was at war With Iran, The larger nation posed a greater threat. The majority of the Iranians are Shiite. It is unsurprising america took direct advantage of the sectarian devide by supporting a Sunni. Especially one who was a minority of that nation.
