When David sung this song..damn man...he was awesome....not saying Wes was bad..but davids singing to this song was more to my liking...

I agree, if anybody reading this post hasn't watched David's version, I urge them to do so. The F5 is unbelievable!

wow. wes does an awesome job on this. i Played david's version and this version and i listened to wes and david singing the 1st Welllll part...they sounded like the exact same person, they both have amazing voices

@hoover4000 Yes! I often want to say that, when people get so caught up in vitriolic comparisons. I think they're sometimes unaware of what's really going on inside themselves. One of the wonderful things about Bill Gaither is the great number of incredibly gifted people he has enabled people all over the world to see & hear, for as long as the video's, dvd's, & cd's remain. How impoverishing it would be to have to label one "The BEST!" (& how foolish...what would be the point?)

why do people give people thumbs down when they say wes is good? some of you are being unfair, wes DOES have a beautiful voice. I saw a gaither concert and wes was there of course and he sang the lead on a beautiful song called "theres always a place at the table" and I was blown away and on "because he lives" he hits a high note I didnt know he could. David is special and he'll never be replaced, but I have room enough for both of them in my heart. Be kind! people are allowed to like both!! :)
