  • Thankyou John :) that was VERY illuminating and edifying and comforting. bless you and your ministry. stay humble before the Lord. and thankyou for your dedication to the Word of God. i have listened to many of your sermons, and you have been of enormous strength to me. bless you.

  • @erubians1 good job this guys name is Piper otherwise he would have a bad reputation! Peace

  • @erubians1 For someone who likes so many Christian songs, you sure hate a lot on Christians.I don't know what's up, but I can assure you that going around on Piper's videos and bashing him does not glorify God and bless others. Anyways, in the end, it's not about who is talking, but it's about God. Even if John Piper was the most evil person in the world, he's a man of God now. Paul murdered Christians. He killed Stephen. Then he encountered Christ and spread the Gospel in a way few have. PTL

  • @erubians1 Its good to see your comment is so rooted in biblical truth. Well done!!!

  • pipper is an ex pedo..

  • that's awesome thank you pastor for the words of truth

  • Thanks be to the true God for John Piper. There are just so many verses like that one that are being taken out of context. It's time for all of us to face the reality of what is truly written in God's Word and just accept it. These false teachings are only distorting God's Holy Word and twisting it. It was hard for me to accept as well until I started listening to sound biblical doctrine taught by John Piper, John MacArthur and Paul Washer. It is setting me free.

  • @MattinatorHax

"Was not Jesus torn up, beat up, dirt poor, dirty?"

    Jesus never got sick.

Why does someone torn/beat up, dirt poor, dirty need a treasurer? How does someone like that meet with the religious elite of their day? Wise men bringing gold and other gifts to someone dirt poor and dirty? Really? Being invited to a wedding?

His life and purpose was to destroy the works of the devil (1John 3:8) and to set captives free (Luke 4:18)

Phil 2:7 is specific, nothing to do with "riches".

  • @whizzpopping What sort of soldier is so arrogant as to think they should have a higher standard of life than their general? Was not Jesus torn up, beat up, dirt poor, dirty? Was his life not all about setting his riches completely aside and enduring shame and rejection for the sake of God's glory and man's salvation (Phil 2)? Are we not called to follow him? This is not saying that we should always be poor and miserable, but that prosperity for all believers is not biblical, given Jesus example

  • (cont) In bringing up Genesis 1+2, you ignored chapter three, where it talks about God cursing the earth and making it toil for people to live and work on (and it is still in that state, waiting until it is renewed - Romans 8).

And Jesus himself expected calamities for all those who would follow him: John 16:33. Paul talked about living in need and hunger at times (Phil 4:10-13), and talks about being in strife in 2 Cor 12:7-10. 1 Peter 4 also rebukes a church for being surprised at suffering.
