*HD* #4 Wake Forest tops #1 Duke (January 28th, 2009)

Another new #1 falls. Duke always lives and dies by the 3 because they usually don't have much of an inside game, and tonight it cost them by firing so many bricks (4-22 @ 18%) due to Wake's tough defense.

When Duke wins, Coach K always likes to stop and have a little chat with the other teams coach while patting them on the shoulder, but not when they lose. He didn't have one thing to say to Dino and he also didn't shake everyones hand.

Congratulations to Wake Forest! What a great game this was! The final score isn't anywhere near what it should be because Wake outplayed Duke about 90% of the game.

RIght but your comment on "living and dying by the 3" for this game still makes no sense... Anyways, that's why its a 40 minute game... Obviously Wake isn't a good team for 40 minutes. Still a very good team but you have to credit Duke for coming back. Don't expect the same "blowout" in Cameron by the way based on what Wake can't do when they are at home after a week off

I'm not really a Wake fan, but I was glad to see them knock off Duke. Clemson wiped the floor with the Dukies on Wednesday and Duke's poor losing sportsmanship showed again with Coach K calling an unneeded timeout with 27 seconds left and Kyle Singler knocking the ball loose from Stitt for no reason with a few seconds left instead of just letting the last couple seconds tick off the clock.

The Devils better get ready for the Tarheels next week.

Duke lives and dies by the 3? Obviously not if they only scored 12 of their 68 points from behind the arc and still almost won. Don't get me wrong, props to Wake for beating Duke at home (by 2), no doubt they are a good basketball team and are playing well right now, but don't expect 18% in Cameron

This is only one game. Duke has lived and died by the 3 for several years, it's not a secret. They actually had to fight hard and do something besides firing bombs during this game and Wake actually let them get that close by not playing well down the stretch. This could have very easily been a blowout and was on the way to that until Wake slipped up for several minutes toward the end.

H00fever, exactly. The score was not even close than it actually was.. just like UNC game vs Wake. Wake is amazingly a legit basketball team.
