  • If my mucocele is located close to my gums on my top row set of teeth, would it be hard to remove? I know I need to remove it because it is re-occuring, but will it be more difficult to remove than it would be if it was located on the bottom lip? thanks for your time.

  • @theholagurrl90210,

Mucoceles for some reason predominantly occur on the lower lip. I have never removed one from the upper lip, so I cannot advice on that.

  • Oh no. I think I have a mucocele. It started almost 3 weeks ago, goes away leaving just a white raised dot, then comes back. I started rinsing my mouth a with salt water and it helped, but then it came back. For the last two days I've been rinsing my mouth with Maalox and Dyphenhydramine, and I haven't seen results yet. I don't want a surgery! I'm a poor and uninsured grad student! =/ I wonder how much this minimal surgery is here in United States?

  • @deyita623,

None of those treatments will help. Sometimes they burst and go away, but most of the time, they do not and does end up needing surgery. I cannot comment on the cost of surgery. They cheapest place to get this done in the US is generally speaking Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery teaching hospitals or dental schools.

  • what local anesthesia was used there? there is not so much bleeding as usual , did they use adrenalin? Ty

  • @LeonoSalomo,

Yes 12.5 Microgram/ml or 1:80000 (European solution). The most common epi content is 1:100000.

  • i wounder how much money the tooth fairly will give me if i leave mucocele under my pillow.

  • I've read here on the internet that in some cases, after they've had their surgery, the mucocele came back.

I just want to know if it's true that it has a tendency to come back after the surgery.

coz i have one and im planning to undergo with this surgery.

Pls answer my question, I'm really freaked out with my mucocele.

thank you in advanced, I would really appreciate it!
