@ryecroft57 1979. This was the 3rd of the Pat Boone and Family Specials. The first was a regular special that aired in spring 78 (at the height of Debby Boone's career), the second was the '79 Easter Special. This Christmas special was rerun on Nick-at-Nite in 1995.

This was made in 1979, taped at ABC Television Center in Hollywood.

this was around the time Pat Boone was supporting the burning alive of Vietnamese people --- disgusting

Man, if the rest of the program was as fun as that opening number I really wish they'd put this out on DVD. Just good fun, especially for nostalgic old guys like me who remember watching Hong Kong Phooey (number one super guy!), Dyno-Mutt and Fred & Barney back in the '70s. This was also an age of real entertainers: Pat Boone, Dinah Shore, Rosemary Clooney. It would be fun to see the Ropers' sketch, too. Seeing them in here I'm guessing this show must have aired on ABC in 1977 or '78?

Alright...I get the fact that it's OK to be a kid at christmas.
But is it also OK to leave a baby carriage unattended while you dance around with cartoon characters?
