Have a look at Fall on Skyline Drive in the Blue Ridge and overlooking the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. At the valley the colors were a mixture of greens, reds and yellows and at the higher altitudes that colors were turning to dark reds and browns. I also added some music and a high speed sunset. Check the hawk and the small plane flying together.

  • That is an excellent zoom on the camera. What kind is it?

  • It's a Sony HVR Z1U HDV camera. This was shot in Hi Def but reduced for the Web.

  • Was just up on Skyline this weekend taking pics & video myself. The beauty took my breath away. Thanks for posting this Mid.

  • Glad you enjoyed your trip and the video. The High Definition version looks so much better than the web version.

  • Make sure to pick some persimmons when they ripen in the fall. They are really good. I picked a lot along the parkway and planted the seeds up here in the mountains of New York State.

  • I went there years ago back in the early 1980's. I was like 3 or 4. I'm going to be 29 this month, I'd like to go there again someday.

  • Could use more color.

  • What a wonderful comment! Well, we are glad to have you back anytime! I hope to go back to Skyline Drive this fall, and you are welcome anytime :)

  • One day I'm going through Skyline Drive while I'm still at nearby JMU....don't know when, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to do it.

'Cause after graduation in 2009, who knows where I'll be...

  • my first visit to the United States..arrived in Nashville sept 10th 2001....awful sadness..an american couple gave us a lift because 69 planes grounded at Nashville...up to New York the next week we passed through here .we were stunned by the beauty of America...it's a love affair that will never end...nearly 7 years on and I still can't stop talking about it.Thank you for posting this. seeing it has brought memories back of a 900 mile trip over two days through all of this..love...from England.

  • yes, too early for best colors.. but havent been many good autumns in recent years.. Still wonderful most anytime...clear in winter if midwest coal plants arent blowing that way
