This video is absolutely essential. We took our new monty down to the common a few weeks ago, just to see how difficult it was to put up and down. Just the two of us with me probably doing most of the running round I have to say, but we got it up and back in the bag in an hour and 1o minutes, including laying the footprint. Could have been quicker had we not lost the mallet under the footprint. Really looking forward to our first outing.

That is a very clever technique to fold the tent up into 7ths. We argued if it was 6ths or 8ths, untill we realised you fold one side three times, and the other twice.
2 + 3 = 7 ???? - it does in tent folding..
Well done, and thanks for the lesson (in your other video) about how to put up the tent as well - ends first.
You will have saved a serious domestic at the start of our (and many other peoples) holiday.
That is what I call customer service... LOL.
Thank you.

We have just returned from a short camping trip and as we couldn't get the tent back in the bag we folded it up and shoved it in the car on top of all the equipment and stuff. It took us 2 hours to get it in the back when we practised in the garden how poor is that! It was in the garage taking up loads of room until I discovered this clip. I am so grateful! We followed the method and got it in the bag provided in 10 minutes first attempt. Not as good as the smart arse who does it in 5! tho.

it took me 5 mins to put it away
Bit of a cheat that, that tent was as flat as anything, all the air had already been rolled out of it. That's the hard bit, having to roll around on the tent to get all the air out.
Anyone who thinks that their Monty 6 will look like that once they've taken all the pegs out are in for a shock. And if you camp near the sea with a strong coastal wind, then you'll find that you need at least one extra person to keep it from blowing away.

@RoadHogGB. Hi, the video was supposed to give people a guideline on how to pack the tent away, but at the start of the season next year I am going to do more detailed video's as I have had a few comments about how hard it is to get the air out. It isn't hard at all to fold up the tent and get the air out it's just how you go about it, when you are ready to drop the tent keep all four corners pegged down, remove the legs then the roof bars(make sure front door is open) and fold the roof in half

whilst stiil pegged down that expells the air out without the need for S.A.S rolls up and down. Do yourself a favour and subscribe to this channel and when I do all the videos at the start of the year you will be notified. I will show how to pack it into the bag from being pitched up, then hopefully all your questions will be answered. any other questions, feel free to ask, cheers mark

I was always advised to keep the [ring and] pins to the outside edge, so as not to damage the tent fabric - this guy just folds them right in ! Am I being over cautious or is this a bad idea ?

No your not being over cautious, it is always worth having the ring & pins to the outer edges, however due to the door being central and the groundsheet being fitted, it would trap alot more air. suggest that you take safe route that you are comfortable with, but perhaps follow the video in terms of the width of the folded fabric, so that it starts thinner than the width of the bag before rolling so that it fits in the bag perfectly without a struggle.
