Well the ducks are back again this year for a visit. They seem to be the same male and female because they always know where to look for their food. Sometimes they even wait for me to put more out for them! They don't seem to be afraid of me, but sometimes they take off when they see my husband ;o) It is a bit dark at the end of the video, but you can still see the ducks by their food.

  • @BalconyOasis The ducks did come back this spring (2010) - at least I am assuming that they are the same ones, they all look alike, LOL! We have never seen any eggs or little ones. I wish that we would - that would be so cute!

  • This must be a breeding pair visiting you in springtime. They feel safe. Have you seen any eggs or ducklings? Did they come back in 2010? What a habitat you have created there.

  • The ducks are a nice addition to our pond. We really enjoy having them around. Once the pond was established with the hardy plants, it has been pretty easy to take care of. The first year, there was a lot of algae and that was a nuisance. Since we have a skimmer, that takes care of the surface debris. The larger the pond, the easier to take care of, believe it or not! Take a look at my other video from the summer, then you can see how nice it really is =D

  • Yes, I definitely agree! It is fun to watch them and we look forward to seeing them every day. I wish that they would lay their eggs here, but I think that they are smart enough to know that this pond is not the safest place for them. It is too out in the open!

  • Great video. We have ducks around here all the time. Our distant neighbor has a pond...guess they come from there. I just have to have one of these ponds. It is difficult to maintain?

  • That's so great to have ducks visit your pond ! They are beautiful!
