Great Video! thanks for sharing!! you should also do another video on where you shoot what equipment you use stuff like that

I had one of those folding step stools. Yes, it is rated for 300 pounds but my 280 pound bulk made it collapse!
Nice idea about the blue back support thingie.

The stools are great, they're also really nice for when you want that angle that's above sitting on the floor, but low enough that it's hard to hold for more than a minute or two. I've got one that's almost identical but in black instead of white, came from Bed Bath and Beyond of all places.

I'm learning lately, what settings do you shoot?

Thanks Scott!

Regarding strobes in the rafters, like at pro NBA arenas: are those installed by the photographers, or does the venue own them and just release the frequencies for the remote triggers to professional photographers? If it's the latter, would a PocketWizard MultiMAX be able to trigger the flashes using its own internal 32 frequencies?

@sbmellentine - hard to say specifically what's going on at each venue, but it's usually most likely that the strobes are owned by the photographers. They might install them for an entire season, but usually in the facilities I've shot the photographers are responsible for those things. Usually, the MultiMAX is sufficient for those situations, and often the regular PWs will work with just their four channels. Hope that helps.

Great video, Wouldn't that Big 12 game happened to be K-State and OK ST? If so i saw you on TV right near the K-State coaches bench as a ref and martin were talking.

Thanks. Yes, that game was on TV and that was me you saw. I usually get a lot of texts and FB messages when I get that much airtime! Ha!

Thanks. Yea, I keep that stool in my car trunk most of the time. It has come in handy for many things including on-site portrait and commercial work.
