A few items from TNT on March 11, 1991: first, an ad for the premiere of the original movie Ironclads, followed by the standard TNT Exclusive Premiere opening with closed captioning notice; also, an example of TNT's on-screen logo bug of that time.

  • What is a logo bug? I don't get it.

  • 'Logo bug' is the term given the small network/channel ID that is planted in various corners of the screen, that stays on during an entire program. Turn to any channel nowadays and they are common. Most viewers see no need for them, but programmers defend logo bugs by saying it helps Nielsen research identify channels when measuring ratings.

  • Could someone please upload the movie? I had it on VHS once, but it got erased :o(

  • There was a time when I was quite sickly and missed a lot of elementary school because of it. I used to watch "Ironclads" over and over and it was one of the many things that helped spark my interest in military history.

As a side note, Peter Cullen (voice of Optimus Prime) voicing the commercial for the win!

  • Any one know where I can download this movie ?

  • thats a very distracting but. they should make it clear not red

  • Since idiots like you kept paying your cable bills without complaining.

  • I see, thanks for the explanation. They are see through now. I bearly notice them.

  • Thanks for posting.

Who knew what was to come in the future back then? Now logo bugs aren't just station symbols anymore. As I understand this term, it also refers to banner & animated style advertisements on the lower part of the screen during the show for other shows on the network. Very distracting and annoying in my opinion. Since when did this become OK?
