I'm debating buying a yellow coupe version of this car for about 700 bucks canadian. We'll see how she runs. This vid gives me hope!

its a car worth keeping and maybe ever restoring in the future, eventually the value of classic luxury will go up just like classic muscle. And YES it is a nice car

WOW! That's EXACTLY like the one my mom owned back in the 90s. Down to the same top, faded red paint, white pinstripe, interior; it had 1.3 inch whitewalls, with the original turbined edge hubcaps and same motor too. It was giving to her as a Christmas gift back in Dec of 89. Lots of good and bad memories with the car. Sadly the engine gave out, I believe in 98 or 99 or we thought and was sold.
At 2:15, what you mean by blow by?

Really? That's neat. I can imagine that this combination of colors and options was popular.
Blow-by would be gasses that get past the rings or valve guides due to age and/or wear. To not see any blow-by on a warmed up engine of this age and mileage is wonderful! The first time we noticed it I was very impressed, especially given that this car wasn't always cared for.

@CorvusCasull Yes sir! I guess my car has that blow-by. When running and warmed up you can see gasses coming out from where you put oil in. Then again it has over 220,xxx miles. It's a 30yr. old 80 Caddy Coupe; it has had one overhaul at one point. Was given a receipt when I purchased the car. Price; a little over $2000. Is there anything to treat blow-by other than another overhaul?

Yep, those would be blow-by gasses. There isn't a whole lot you can do really. You could try running a slightly thicker oil and see if it helps. (No additives! Just a thicker viscosity). Though that wouldn't treat blow-by generated by bad valve guides. As long as your blow-by isn't launching the oil cap when you loosen it, you're probably fine. When the car is warm and running, remove the oil cap and let it sit on its housing, see if the cap bounces around a lot or goes flying.

Doesnt this car just prove that American cars can go through hell and back and still run and look good! And it is nice by many means I tell you!

I completely agree. This part is my opinion however; old American cars look good in great or terrible condition. As show pieces or rolling battering rams.
What makes these cars live are their frames, soft but overbuilt suspensions and simple technology. Oh, and the 5-mph steel bumpers help too.
