  • che bello !! poi è suonato anche bene

  • What a beautiful piece of music. I had no idea Hindemith was so... lyrical. Also, very nicely played. Thanks for posting this.

  • Does anyone know if he is using a Brazilwood bow or is it a composite type bow, and the type of strings he's using?(and if they come in the low C)

  • Che suono!

  • @johnyprestige I don't know too much about his use of tonality, but from what I've read he used something similar to tone rows, in which he arranged notes in order of consonant to dissonant.

  • Che suono incredibille, il contrabasso mi è entrato nella testa fin dalla prima nota! Un esecuzione magnifica!

  • That's great! I like it!

  • @johnyprestige It's not atonal, there are fragments of tonality here and there, but of the conventional diatonic type.

  • @johnyprestige I don't know much about hindemith, but I just played Symphonic Metamorphosis with the NJ All-State Orch. and I'd say Hindemith's pieces always sound this way. if you do more research on him you can probably find out what the theoretical base for his pieces is.

  • Is this piece atonal or just harmonically very liberal? can somebody tell me please... i don't really understand this piece although wonderfully played...

  • Outstanding - carefully phrased, and very well played. Your gentleness as a player is very sweet.

I wonder if you would be happier with the piece if you let it be a little more fun and a little less weighty. I hear it as Petrouchka rather than Mendelssohn. I suspect it is meant to laugh and be just a little bit crazy, joking with us, tossing tunes at us while yet perfectly - astonishingly - still fitting into its tight envelope of sewing-machine-motor precision.

  • I hate this piece. I very much like your sitting position, this is the way I sit, much more comfortable! Your musicality is nice too
