On April 14, 2010, the Torch arrived at Pope John Paul 2 Cultural Center in Washington DC. This day will be a historic day that will highlight the Step By Step's 13 year journey and marks almost 10 years of travelling with the Torch of Life. We were pleasantly greeted by the Washington DC Police who were to provide us with an excellent escort to the US Capital. Joining us were students from 3 local Washington Schools; Preparatory School of Washington DC, St Anselm's Abbey School, & Archbishop Carroll High School. Also joining us were Mr & Mrs Aaron Bell & Mr & Mrs David Miller. And of course our hosts from Pope John Paul Cultural Center, Dr Huigh Dempsey, Mr John Sanders & Luis.
The Torch was lit in front of Pope John Paul 2 Statue and the students carried the Torch through Washington DC chanting organ songs. When the students arrived at the Capital they all shared their passionate feelings in our quest to save more lives along this journey.
