In August of 2010, I video taped a wedding for Jake and Amy Waide on the campus of Hardin-Simmons University. This trailer is a portion of the video that I delivered to Jake, Amy and their family.
Every video I shoot and edit is a learning process. This was no exception. There were three cameras for this wedding (a fourth that I never used from the balcony) and one of them was my Canon XH-A1 on the Glidecam 4000Pro. I'm not sure I will ever shoot a wedding ceremony with the Glidecam again because the wedding party is too still and every little movement by the Glidecam stands out and, in my opinion, looks wobbly. Most of the clips in this trailer are with the Glidecam but I think I'd still prefer the cam mounted on a tripod. I think the Glidecam has its place in a wedding but not sure the ceremony is it. Ironically, I went hand-held for the reception, which is probably the one time I should have used the Glidecam. Well, mom always said I wasn't very bright but I had a good heart.
The other lessons learned was camera placement. Next wedding video will have a camera dedicated to the bride and one for the groom. The third camera will be placed somewhere near the center so you can see the officiant.
Hope you enjoy the video. I welcome all comments and criticisms.

Thanks for the comment. I don't think I would ever shoot a wedding with a Glidecam again, at least for the ceremony. The participants are too static and every bad move with the Glidecam is exaggerated.
