:::LYRICS:::
Well we're all getting bigger
But it takes time to be a man
And it's more than you figure
Well take it slow and take my hand

And there's room at the mountaintop
For everyone in God's plan
So just trust in your brother
Let me help you if I can

Oh yeah

I bet you can't get what you want
Come on baby come on darling
I bet you can't get what you need
Come on sugar and try

And there's faith in the answer
We all swear on this land
And the birds they are singing
From the place that we stand

Oh yeah

I bet you can't get what you want
Come on baby come on darling
I bet you can't get what you need
Come on sugar and try

Well there's room in your heart now
For excellence to take a stand
And there's tears that need shedding
It's all part of the plan

Oh yeah

I bet you can't get what you want
Come on baby come on darling
I bet you can't get what you need
Come on sugar and try

Hallelujah hallelujah

  • this makes me want to pour a nice glass of scotch, and move my body in ways that don't look natural

  • "i bet you can get what you want"; the lyrics are a little bit messed up.

great song, even though the religous influence (usually is unnecesary on pupular music). Thanks for the lyrics mate

  • @Indiramogollon16 eso es el poder!!! tambien me hace sentir bien!

  • Por que esta canción me hace sentir tan bien?

  • Fraquiinho...letra besta.

  • Not quite sure why it would be much of a surprise to people that a band called The Rapture would have religious influenced lyrics.

  • 0 UNLIKE first time i see this :)

love this song by the way!

  • This is great! simply great!

  • And even though I'm not in the least bit religious, I love all the new songs and have a new found respect for Luke. Not that I didn't respect him before, but I love how personal these songs are.

  • @nightbinger Luke became a bit more spiritual and religious since the last album...but it's not like he went crazy or anything. I know for a fact that Gabe isn't particularly religious and I'm not sure about Vito. Luke's lyrics just went in a different direction due to events in his life and how he decided to deal with them, but it doesn't mean they are now a Christian band or anything.
