A rarely heard group, Dee Dee Pierce and his New Orleans Stompers playing "The Beer Barrel Polka". Recorded in Preservation Hall, New Orleans; 16th. March 1966. The line-up was :- Dee Dee Pierce; tpt. George Lewis; clt. Jim Robinson; tmb. Lars Edegram; pno. Chester Zardis; bss. and Alex Bigard; dms.
@willredboat Billie Pierce was definitely not a "one armed piano player" ! Perhaps you've mixed her up with "Sweet Emma" Barrett, who could only play with one hand late in life...

Hi Clive, I,m back after having computer problems. Great to see that you are still posting these great New Orleans treasures. Nice playing all round, with George still hitting those high notes with that wonderful tone.Again Utube cut you off at the end.Pity!!

Great stuff---Once back in the mists of time I remember owning a good Billie & Dee Dee Pearce LP---Billie was a one armed piano player I think---
Exciting Sunday lunchtime style of music--

Superb, Clive! Many thanks for adding this. There is a lovely version of Indian Love Call from this same session: any chance of you adding that as well?
