You probably purchased the toy version of the Starspeeder 1000...this is a concept model built for development of the ride I assume.

Star Tours will always be here, in our hearts. But sometimes life needs to move on, and frankly I'm not sad that Star Tours is being revamped as I know Disney will do what is right. All of their attractions are incredible, I doubt they would change this mighty ride over to something inferior.

According to recent official info, the new Star Tours ride will be set in-between episodes 3 and 4, and there will be 54 different experiences possible.

I don't know, but I believe it's in the DL museum in the park. Just waltz around and have a look, I'm sure you'll find it. I think a gift shop was connected to it.

@ anonymousTom - John Williams also declined to compose the original Star Tours. It was done by Richard Bellis. So I'm kind of excited to see Michael Giacchino work on this.
